How do I purchase the Holiday Box?

This year our Holiday offer looks a bit different than in the past. We are offering our Holiday recipes through our usual menu. Click on the Holiday Specials category and you will find all the recipes in one place.

How do I change my delivery day?

Changing your delivery day is easy.

On the web: Click on the “Edit Delivery” button, then click on “Change delivery day”. Choose your desired day.

On the app: Click on the “Manage week” button, then click on “Change delivery day”. Choose your desired day.

Please note that certain days may be unavailable for delivery due to no deliveries occurring in your area on those days.

How far in advance do I need to change my delivery day?

To ensure we can change your delivery day without issue, please make the change at least 4 days before your desired delivery day.

How can I change the number of weekly meals in my box?

Changing how many weekly meals you get is easy.

On the web: Click on the “Edit Delivery” button, then click on “Change box size”. Choose your desired number of meals..

On the app: Click on the “Manage week” button, then click on “Change box size”. Choose your desired number of meals.

How can I change the number of people my recipes feed?

To increase the number of portions for one specific meal, you can double up (or more) on the recipe.

To increase or decrease the number of portions for all your weekly meals, follow these easy instructions.

On the web: Click on the “Edit Delivery” button, then click on “Change box size”. Choose your desired number of people.

Do I need a HelloFresh subscription to purchase the Holiday recipes?

Yes, a HelloFresh subscription is required to purchase the Holiday recipes.

Just log into your account and click on 'My Deliveries' to see what's arriving and check out next week using the arrows at the top of the page. Remember you can change your meal selection as many times as you like, up until your order dealdline (11.59PM PST, 4 days before your delivery day).

I have allergies or special dietary requirements. What should I do?

We don't currently have specific boxes for dietary requirements and allergies at the moment, but don't worry it's on our radar! In the meantime, we always list ingredients and nutritional information 4 weeks in advance so you can make meal selections that work best for your dietary needs. Our boxes have multiple meal swap options.

We do have a lot of customers with strict dietary requirements who still use us and substitute certain ingredients from their own cupboard to cater for their particular needs. It's pretty easy to do as we send you all of the ingredients portioned out so that you can easily remove something from the recipe and put in what you need.

Please keep in mind, depending on the severity and nature of your allergy we may not be able to recommend HelloFresh. At the moment we, unfortunately, cannot guarantee our ingredients are free from cross-contamination.

I didn't receive the recipe cards. What do I do?

Oh no! Sounds like we had a kitchen mix-up. We're sorry to hear you didn't receive your recipe cards this week.

Don't worry - the recipes are available online, so you can view and even print them out. Go to the 'My Deliveries' page in your account to find what you are looking for, and select "Cook It" on the recipe.

Alternatively, download the HelloFresh app, which includes the full recipes plus a fantastic step by step option to walk you through the cooking process, complete with timers and voice control!

What are you doing to reduce waste?

Sustainability is a top priority at HelloFresh.

One of the things we're most proud of at HelloFresh is how much we contribute to reducing food waste. By sending pre-portioned ingredients, we're helping Canadians throw out less! How do I change my delivery day?

We know things change and you may decide to choose a different delivery day. Changing your delivery day is easy. Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Log in to your HelloFresh account.
  2. Select 'Account Settings' on the right-hand side of the screen, under your name.
  3. Head to 'Plan Settings' and click 'Manage'.
  4. Scroll down to 'Delivery', click 'Edit'
  5. Select a delivery day that is available to you and click 'Save'
  6. Make sure to make any address changes by your specific deadline.

How do I change my first order?

When creating your account, you can select which date you would like to receive your first order. You can make any changes to your box on your account, as long as this is before your order deadline. The deadline to make changes to your first order - and any future orders - will be 11:59PM PST, 4 days prior to your delivery date.

How do I change my box size?

We know that life is unpredictable and some weeks you may gain a few visitors to your dining table. That's why we have made changing your box type as easy as possible.

On the website just follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your HelloFresh account.
  2. Head to 'My Deliveries' on the left-hand side of the page.
  3. Click 'Edit Delivery' then 'Change box size'
  4. Choose your new box size and press 'Confirm'.
  5. Make sure to make any address changes before your specific deadline.

What important dates do I need to know for my subscription?

The main dates to keep in mind are:

  • Your delivery date (we offer delivery Saturday - Thursday depending on your postal code)
  • Your weekly order deadline (11:59PM PT, 4 days before your delivery).(Please note: your delivery day may be pushed back over long weekends or on statutory holidays, but your order deadline will remain the same.)
  • Your automatic payment day, which is the day following your weekly order deadline

Why can I see multiple charges from HelloFresh?

An additional charge means you may have selected one of our meal upgrades, customized a recipe or added items from our expanded menu to your delivery this week!

Meal upgrades, customizations and items from our expanded menu are charged additionally to your regular weekly box. Please see below to understand each type of surcharge.

Special: Our Gourmet Meals let our customers choose to upgrade to recipes that include more premium cuts of protein and exotic ingredients. They are perfect for any night you feel like a restaurant quality meal without any extra effort.

Custom Recipes: Would you prefer turkey rather than pork? No problem, our custom recipes give customers the chance to modify their meal to suit them. Just keep an eye out for the Custom Recipe sign!

Items from our Expanded Menu: The expanded menus provides customers with a wide selection of food outside of our regular meal kits. With an array of desserts, brunch & lunch items and ready-to-eat meals, there is something for everyone!

When will I be charged each week?

For all orders, these will be charged just after your meal choice deadline, as shown in the chart below. Please allow a few days for charges to appear in your account. If a charge does not go through, you will receive an email with next steps from our Billing team.

My promo code isn't working. What do I do?

Oh dear, we are sorry that your discount code isn't working. If your promo code isn't working, here are a few simple things you can check first:

  1. Make sure that your code is not expired.
  2. Make sure that you're entering the code correctly with no extra spaces.
  3. Check that the code is valid for the product you selected. (Some codes may exclude certain box sizes.)
  4. Double check the Terms and Conditions of the promo code. (Some codes are only valid for first-time customers or are limited to one per household.)
  5. Make sure you're redeeming it in the right place. Promo codes for new customers should be redeemed here. Current customers can redeem their codes in your 'Account Settings.'
  6. Make sure you're not trying to redeem a Gift Card. If you have a Gift Card you can redeem it here.

I have a promo code for a free box. Why are you charging me $1?

The $1 you may see at checkout is simply an authorization charge to verify the validity of the payment method you are using.

Rest assured, however, that free means free, so this dollar will be returned to you after your order has been processed.

Can I purchase more than one gift card?

Absolutely! The more HelloFresh the merrier.

In order to purchase more than one gift card at a time, you must add each gift card for each product separately. However, you can pay for multiple gift cards at the end of the checkout process.

Will I receive an email confirmation for my gift card purchase(s)?

Yes, you will receive an email confirmation after purchasing a gift card!

The recipient will receive their e-gift card separately. If the recipient(s) do not receive the email confirmation, we suggest they check their spam folders.

Do gift card purchases result in the creation of a subscription?

Nope, gift card purchases are one-off transactions. You will not be setting up a subscription for the sender or the recipient, and no further charges will apply.

Why am I asked to enter a shipping address when purchasing a gift card?

We want to make sure the person receiving the gift card is in our delivery area. We’d hate for you to buy a gift for someone you love just to find out that they can’t receive a box.

If you're not familiar with the recipients delivery address, you can simply enter your own address. The recipient will be able to enter their own delivery and meal options when they redeem your special gift.

If you send a gift card and the recipeint is unable to redeem this, please contact us.

I'm missing ingredients in my box. What do I do?

First things first: check the entire contents of your box and then make sure that the item you are missing is not a pantry item. Pantry items are listed on your recipe card, and include things like oil and butter.

If you're missing a protein or dairy item, it may be playing hide and seek under the ice packs to stay cool!

If something is missing, our apologies! This definitely isn't acceptable. We understand how disappointing it can be to not have everything you need.

You can report missing items here or get in touch and we will look into it right away. It's important you let us know so we can make this right!

How do I change my box size on the app?

We know that life is unpredictable and some weeks you may gain a few visitors to your dining table. That's why we have made changing your box size as easy as possible no matter where you are.

  1. Open the App and log into your account.
  2. Go to 'My Menu' on the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select the date you want to change the box size.
  4. Click 'Manage Week', then 'Change box size'.
  5. Make changes and click 'Confirm'
  6. Don't forget: the cut-off for box size changes is 4 days before your next delivery.

Is Chefs Plate associated with HelloFresh?

Yes, Chefs Plate is a division of HelloFresh in Canada! We are proud to serve Canadians through both HelloFresh and Chefs Plate.

What is a flexible subscription?

With a HelloFresh's flexible subscription, you will receive a box of fresh ingredients and delicious recipes every week. If you wish to skip a week of your subscription, you have until 11:59pm PST 4 days before your next delivery to update your delivery schedule in your HelloFresh account.

We like to keep things simple, so we will do our best to limit utensils to the basics. We're pretty sure you'll have all the things you need in your kitchen. Where possible, we provide an alternative so you can still create our delicious recipes even if you don't have some of the required equipment

What are Smart Meals?

The HelloFresh menu has three types of Smart Meals. Carb Smart meals have 50 g of carbohydrates per serving or less. Calorie Smart meals have 650kcal per serving or less. Smart Meals have both 50 g of carbohydrates per serving or less and 650kcal per serving or less.

What do I do with the packaging?

Please check with your municipality for any city-specific regulations in regards to disposing of all of our packaging. Our boxes are 100% recyclable so we recommend putting all cardboard and paper items out with your household recycling (after some fun fort-building of course!).

The kit bags are 100% compostable as well. These bags are perfect for any bits and bobs left over from dinner (like carrot tops and pepper stems). Just remember to remove the sticker before putting it in your green bin if your municipality accepts it.

What can I do with my ice packs ?

We send 100% water ice packs in our boxes to ensure optimum freshness for your food! You can either reuse your ice packs or let them melt and pour the water down the drain. Please check your local municipality's recycling regulations to determine if the ice pack plastic can be recycled in your city.

My order arrived damaged. What do I do?

This is definitely not acceptable, and we apologize for the inconvenience. Please contact our Customer Care Team and we'll be sure to make this right.

If you have any photos handy of the error, please pass these along as well.

How many people do the Holiday recipes feed?

If you are cooking for a large gathering, we have recipes for 6 or more people. You can pick your own recipes to create your ideal feast, or choose our chef-curated bundle.

The number of servings is indicated on the recipe. If you are cooking for a larger party, you can double up on the 6 person recipes. The recipe cards will have instructions to cook for 12 people.

If you are cooking for a smaller party, we also have recipes that feed 2 to 4 people. You’ll find appetizers, main dishes, and desserts. Everything you need for a delicious Holiday dinner!

Do I have to order my weekly meals in order to buy the Holiday recipes?

A lot of our Holiday recipes are in our Expanded Menu. If you choose those recipes, you will need to purchase a minimum of 2 weekly meals to complete your box.

When will my Holiday recipes get delivered?

Your Holiday recipes will get delivered on the delivery day you choose. If you want to cook on Christmas Day, we recommend you change your delivery day to December 22nd or 23rd for utmost freshness. Note that you will have to place your order 4 days in advance.

Which recipe should I cook first?

Whichever recipe you're craving the most! It's totally up to you.

If we have any recipes that we recommend you eat earlier or by a certain date, we'll be sure to indicate this on the bag through our Best Before Date.

Where do I find the best before dates for my kits and ingredients?

The label on your meal kit bag indicates the best before date of your kit, including any proteins. The best before date on the kit bag is reflective of the ingredient for the kit with the shortest shelf life.

For individual expanded menu items that are not packed in a meal kit bag, check the weekly best before date card in your box.

How do I keep my groceries fresh?

Our products arrive to us incredibly fresh from the markets and our suppliers, and should always stay fresh for the course of the week. We recommend popping your kits into your fridge as soon as possible after receiving your box. Don't forget your meats and other proteins that may be hiding with your icepacks!

If we have any special suggestions to keep your ingredients fresh longer, we'll be sure to indicate this in your box or on the kit bags.

Are your ingredients organic?

The focus of HelloFresh is on helping our customers make those first steps towards cooking well-balanced meals at home. While we source organic whenever possible, what we do concentrate on is what produce looks and tastes best. We also use many of the "Clean 15" ingredients in our boxes.

We work with trusted, experienced, and sustainable business partners to ensure high quality, seasonal, and farm-sourced produce is delivered to our customers at peak freshness.

Eating organic is certainly one way of eating better; however, the focus with HelloFresh is more on helping customers have a positive cooking experience in the kitchen.

Do you have Keto, Paleo, Gluten-Free, Halal, Kosher options?

We don't currently have specific boxes for dietary requirements at the moment, but don't worry it's on our radar! In fact, you may find many of our meals will meet your dietary specifications.

If you have a picky eater in your household, this option makes it easier to please their palate! To customize your meal, simply look for the “Custom Recipe” label on our weekly menu, click the “customize this meal” icon, and choose your ingredient swap.

Can I recycle my packaging?

Absolutely! We are delighted that you have taken the initiative to recycle. Our boxes are 100% recyclable so we recommend putting all cardboard and paper items out with your household recycling.

Our kit bags are made from compostable materials - just remember to remove the sticker from the bag before placing them into your green bin.

How do I swap/choose my meals ?

Once you have ordered your box, you can go into your account and choose the recipes that make your jaw drop every week. You can choose meals up to 4 weeks in advance! To update your meals, just follow these simple steps:

  1. Log in to your account
  2. Head to 'My Deliveries' on the left-hand side of the page.
  3. Click the arrows next to the dates to advance to future weeks.
  4. Select the meals you'd like in your box by clicking the negative or plus button.
  5. Click 'Continue to our expanded menu' and select any extra market items you may like.
  6. Select 'Confirm Order' to save your selection.

#FreshTip: Don’t forget that the cut-off for your meal changes is __specific to your deadline.

Can I add meal preferences to my account?

So that you can sit back, relax and not worry about what meals are coming, you have the option to add a meal preference to your account. You can select one from the following preferences:

How do I skip a delivery?

That's the best thing about a HelloFresh subscription - you can customize your deliveries to suit your needs. If you're travelling or would just like to skip a delivery (or two) for any reason, follow these easy steps. On the website just follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your HelloFresh account.
  2. Head to 'My Deliveries' on the left-hand side of the page.
  3. Click 'Edit Delivery' then 'Skip this week'
  4. Make sure to make any changes by your deadline.

How do I cancel my subscription?

We're sorry to see you go! Keep in mind that you can always skip a delivery if you need to take a break for a week or two.

Cancelling your subscription is easy, you just need to go to follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your HelloFresh account on our website.
  2. Click on your name at the top of the page, select Account Settings'.
  3. Scroll down to the 'Status' section and click on 'Cancel Plan' on the left-hand side.
  4. We'd appreciate if you could complete the short survey and let us know what you thought of your HelloFresh experience or how we can do better.
  5. You will receive an email confirming your cancellation, please retain this for future reference.

How do I update my payment information?

  3. Head to 'Orders History' and there you can view all your previous orders and how much you were charged.
  4. If you'd like us to send you an invoice simply click 'Send Invoice' next to the relevant order and we'll email it over to you. If you are having trouble receiving your invoice, please contact us.

How can I see credits on my account?

To see the credit available on your account, click on your name at the top of the page and then click 'Account Settings'. Credit will be displayed in the 'Account Info' section, under 'Your credit'.

Note that this will not show any discount codes, just credit.

How do I redeem my promo code?

If you are a new customer and have a promo code, lucky you! Just follow the steps below to redeem it.

  1. Head to this page.
  2. Select the box size you would like to purchase and the number of servings and begin sign up.
  3. At the delivery page, where your delivery address is entered, there will be a box in the right module to enter your promo code!
  4. Enter your code in the box, press 'Apply', and the discount will be applied against the final cost.
  5. Follow the steps to check out.
  6. Check that the total has been updated and proceed to checkout.

If you're a current customer redeeming a code in your account. You can do so in your 'Account Settings'.

Don't forget to check the terms and conditions of your specific promo code.

I am redeeming a free box. Why do I need to enter a payment method?

When signing up for HelloFresh, you are enrolling in a weekly, auto-renewing subscription service. Coupons or vouchers may discount all or part of your initial delivery, but your subscription will automatically continue (with weekly charges to your account) unless you choose to skip or cancel deliveries.

Just remember to let us know by your deadline before your next scheduled delivery if you wish to skip or cancel — no minimum commitment required.

Can I gift HelloFresh?

Give the perfect gift with a HelloFresh delivery. Share the joy of cooking with your friends and loved ones and treat them to a HelloFresh delivery for one week. Simply buy a gift card online and wish them Happy Cooking!

This is a one off delivery and no subscription is created. The gift box is available across all our plans.

Just follow these steps:

  1. Click on the 'Gift Cards' link
  2. Select the type of box you'd like to give
  3. Choose the size of the box and the delivery date.
  4. Add a special note
  5. Complete the order, and we can either send you the voucher to print off and give to your friend, or you can select a date for us to send the voucher to your friend as an email!

I am redeeming a free box or gift card. Why do I need to enter a payment method?

If you are redeeming an e-gift card purchased from our website, you will not be enrolled in a subscription.

We simply ask for a valid payment method so that you can easily convert your account to a subscription if you wish to continue after receiving your free box.

Rest assured, however, that we will not enroll or charge you for additional deliveries unless you choose to convert your gift card account to a subscription.

Can I send discounted boxes to my friends and family?

Absolutely - you'll be the most popular person at the next family reunion! HelloFresh makes a perfect gift for friends or family.

Our discounted first delivery promotion is an offer that we give our customers to spread the HelloFresh cheer. This promotion will be offered to you when you hit certain milestones in the HelloFresh family. You will also receive credit on your account for each discounted box you send and is then claimed!

Please note discounted boxes are for first-time customers only and the recipient will need to sign up for a HelloFresh subscription to redeem this offer. Rest assured, their first box will still be discounted and they can make adjustments to their account at any time. No commitment required!

How to check if you have discounted boxes to send?

To check whether you are eligible to send discounted boxes, log in to your account and click on 'HelloFriends' in the navigation bar. This will appear on the top right on the webpage and on the bottom on the HelloFresh app. It will have a little red number in a circle indicating how many discounted boxes you are able to send.

From here, click on the green button and you’ll be prompted to enter your friend's email address and they'll receive instructions on how to place their order. You can also send discounted boxes by Facebook and Twitter!

How will I be notified of my delivery?

Depending on your area, some customers will receive a shipment notification with tracking information. Otherwise, you can expect your box to be delivered on your delivery day before 8pm local time.

Our Customer Care team will always aim to contact you should we expect any changes to your normal delivery window and/or we experience any delays.

Can I have it delivered to a work address?

Absolutely! Many customers choose to have their box delivered to their work address rather than having it left at their home.

Please note that while our couriers make an effort to service business addresses during business hours, our guaranteed delivery window remains 8am-8pm local time.

Is there a delivery cost?

The delivery fee is $9.99, except for locations that may be subject to a small surcharge. This shipping fee helps us to work with our couriers to get the boxes to your door. First delivery is free for every user with a voucher code.

Where is my HelloFresh box?

We know how excited you must be to receive your delicious box of goodies.

If you're expecting a box, there's a few things you can do to make sure it's still on track for delivery.

  1. Double check your delivery date. Our deliveries take place between 6am-8pm local time. It may be that the delivery driver hasn't reached you.
  2. Some areas will receive a tracking number by email to help you keep track of your delivery. Double check your inbox to see if you have this notification.

If your delivery window has passed and your box still hasn't arrived. Please get in touch with our team right away. We'll look into this right away and make sure we make it right.

Do I need to be home for delivery?

Not at all! If you are not home during delivery, our courier will drop the box off at your front door (or wherever you specify in your Delivery Instructions). We recommend being able to retrieve the box and place the contents in your fridge as soon as possible.

If you live in an area where a box cannot easily be left, we suggest one of the following solutions:

  • Provide the address of a helpful neighbour that will be home during the delivery window and can accept your package for you.
  • If you live in an apartment building or condominium, ask your concierge to receive the box for you, or give buzzer instructions to the courier via the Delivery Instructions to leave the box safely inside the building.
  • Have the box delivered to your workplace.
  • Have the box delivered to a nearby business or restaurant that won't mind you picking up the box at a later time that day.

I live in an apartment. Can I still get HelloFresh?

Absolutely! We recommend confirming that your building accepts perishable items, first. Once that's confirmed, make sure to leave any buzzer or delivery instructions in your Delivery Instructions.

If you live in an area where a box cannot easily be left, we suggest one of the following solutions:

Will my box remain fresh if I'm not home?

All of our boxes contain an insulated liner and ice packs to keep your food fresh until you get home! Just pop your kits in the fridge as soon as you can.

Don't forget to check for any proteins or sensitive ingredients that may be hiding at the bottom of your box with the ice packs.

How do I swap meals on the app?

Need HelloFresh on the go? You can also choose your meals using the HelloFresh app! Just follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your account on the app.
  2. Head to 'My Menu' at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select the delivery date you want to make changes to.
  4. Select the meals you'd like in your box by ticking the minus on recipes you don't want that are already selected, or 'Add' for recipes you want to add, or plus if you want multiple of the same recipe.
  5. Press 'Save' on the top right of the screen.
  6. Don’t forget: the cut-off for your meal change can be found here.

How do I skip deliveries on the app?

Need to skip a week on the go? You can do this on the HelloFresh app. Just follow these steps:

  1. Open the App and log into your account.
  2. Go to 'My Menu' on the bottom of the screen.
  3. Select the date you want to skip.
  4. Click 'Edit Delivery', then 'Skip this week'.
  5. Please give us feedback why you are skipping.
  6. Don't forget: you must skip the week on or before your deadline for this delivery.

How do I update my personal details on the app?

If for any reason you need to change your personal details such as your email address or password, it's easy to do from the app.

  1. Login to your HelloFresh account.
  2. Select 'Settings' on the bottom right of the screen.
  3. Click onto 'Personal Info'.
  4. Select 'Edit' on the top right and you can change your name or email address or click on 'Change Password' if you need to update that.
  5. Once you've made the changes you need and press 'Done'.

How do I update my delivery address on the app?

To change your delivery address on the app please follow these simple steps:

  1. Login to your HelloFresh account.
  2. Select 'Settings' on the bottom right of the screen.
  3. Click onto 'Edit' next to 'Plan Settings' and pick the plan you want to adjust. If you have multiple plans, you'll need to adjust them individually.
  4. Select 'Address' and you can change your delivery address.
  5. Don't forget to press 'Save'!
