Trendy Korean Strawberry Milk

Trendy Korean Strawberry Milk

This delicious, creamy drink is popular in South Korea. Thanks to viral success on TikTok, we can now enjoy this refreshing drink in North America, too. Part of the appeal of this tasty treat is how simple it is to make—the basic recipe uses only three ingredients! Korean Strawberry milk looks just about as great as it tastes and can be made for a single serving or in larger batches. Just save some of the strawberry puree in a jar and take it out whenever you want to enjoy a cool, creamy beverage that tastes like summer.

Korean Strawberry Milk Recipe

Start by taking out your fresh strawberries and thoroughly rinsing them. Once cleaned, remove the green stems and white tops and chop the strawberries into small chunks. Add your chopped strawberries to a bowl with white sugar and combine. Some recipes suggest you should mash the strawberries a little bit before the next step to help them break down, so it depends on how chunky you want your drink. If you like a lot of chunks, skip this step and add the chopped strawberries straight into a skillet on medium to low heat. Let the strawberries cook on the pan until they break down, helping them along by breaking them up with a wooden spoon or spatula. Once the strawberries resemble a chunky puree, remove them from the heat and add them to a glass with ice. Make sure you coat the sides of the glass with strawberry to ensure your milk gets lots of that great flavour. Finally, add your milk to the glass, then stir and enjoy!

Make it Your Own:

 • While whole milk is suggested for this recipe to enjoy full levels of creaminess, it can also be made with any milk or dairy-free alternative of your choice.
 • Not a fan of chunks? Put a strainer over your glass before you add the strawberry puree. This will catch the large chunks and leave you with a silky strawberry syrup.
 • Make your drink even creamier by adding condensed milk or a little bit of whipping cream.
 • Bubble tea lovers should consider adding Sago or Boba for an added delicious touch.

The most surprising thing about this recipe is its ingredients list. First, there are only two: sparkling water… and balsamic vinegar. To prepare it, get yourself a glass (preferably a tall one, so the fizz doesn’t run over) and add some ice. Next, take your balsamic vinegar and add a small amount to the glass. After that, you add your favourite type of sparkling water - the brand doesn’t matter; it just needs to be carbonated to replicate Coke’s bubbles. Once you’ve got your ingredients together, give it a stir and enjoy! While the taste may not be exactly the same as Coke, it’s a surprisingly close match. If you’re looking to phase Coke out of your diet, this Healthy Coke recipe is a great way to stay away from the sugar and instill enjoy a delicious bubbly beverage.

Tips to Switch it Up:

Most people use plain sparkling water, but you can try using your favourite flavour to give it a little boost in taste. Try making this recipe with different types of sparkling water to find the combination that’s your favourite!

TikTok Yogurt/Custard French Toast

TikTok Yogurt/Custard French Toast

It’s not unusual to find healthy ingredients being used to create decadent snacks that help you can enjoy (semi) guilt-free. Yogurt/Custard French Toast is a major trend right now, with people everywhere enjoying this easy to prepare breakfast. Custard toast feels healthier because it uses yogurt instead of rich cream to create a silky sweet topping for toast. It’s a great breakfast to prepare with the kids and is topped with your choice of berries to make it look and taste even better.

How To Make Your Own Yogurt/Custard Toast

To ace this recipe, you should start with brioche bread or other types of rich bread like challah. Brioche and challah are buttery and sweet while also providing a fluffier, more tender texture ideal to stand up to the custardy topping. They also produce a lovely crust while staying light and airy in the centre. If you don’t have brioche, no worries, this recipe works well with other types of bread, too. The custard replaces the richer, less healthy blend of heavy cream and eggs with healthy yogurt and even works with dairy-free yogurts such as almond or oat. You can also choose your favourite flavour of yogurt. Either way, the yogurt is blended with an egg to create a smooth custardy topping. Push down your bread to make a nice little indent so you can add more of the yummy custard, pop in some blueberries or your choice of other fruit, and then bake it in the oven until it sets, and the bread is toasty and golden. Top with more fruit, a sprinkle of powdered sugar, a drizzle of honey, or maple syrup. Voila, you’ve created the perfect breakfast fancy enough for special occasions but simple enough for every day.

Some ideas to switch it up include:
- Adding spices like cinnamon and nutmeg to the custard
- Using honey, agave, or maple syrup to sweeten the custard
- Sprinkling your baked creation with crunchy granola, nuts or coconut
- Giving it a tropical flair using coconut yogurt and fresh pineapple and bananas

TikTok Green Goddess Salad

TikTok Green Goddess Salad

Although many people mistake this recipe for a new sensation, it’s an old recipe dating back to the 1920s. Although the TikTok version has made a few changes to the classic recipe, it still comes out tasting just as good. TikTok users have switched this to a dip much like a fresh salsa, but the original salad was more like a bright green coleslaw made with the crunch of cabbage.

How To Make The Green Goddess Salad

The dressing is simply whipped up in a food processor blending fresh basil and spinach for the distinctly green of the dressing, brought to life with sharp shallot and garlic that become smooth and luscious thanks to olive oil and cashews. Add a pinch of salt and you can toss this on a salad of shredded cabbage, cucumber, and scallions or chives, or your choice of fresh greens.

Make it your own with some scrumptious ideas including:
- Experiment with the herbs to create your own version using fresh mint, some dill, tarragon, or cilantro
- Use a blend of other fresh greens into the mix instead of just the spinach
- Experiment with different oils or use avocado
- Try vinegar to add different levels of flavour
- Consider the original ingredients from the 1920s to make it creamier and more decadent with mayo or sour cream
- Toss in more veggies when making your salad like radishes for a bit of spice, or celery for more crunch

TikTok Rigatoni Pasta Chips

If you’re in the mood for snacking, Rigatoni Chips could be your new go-to crunchy nosh. Air fryers make the most of this treat, but you can use an oven in a pinch. Fat and easy-to-grab rigatoni are tossed in olive oil, parmesan cheese and assorted spices and cooked until perfectly crisp. This dish is served with your choice of dips, making it not only a great snack, but fancy enough as an appetizer when entertaining. Although you can choose your favourite pasta, rigatoni seems to be the ideal size and shape.

The pasta is cooked first and then tossed in a bit of olive oil to help it crisp up and turn nice and golden. To bring more flavour to the pasta itself, parmesan cheese and your choice of spices such as Italian seasoning, oregano, basil, onion and garlic powders help bring the pasta to the next level. A popular dip served with these little taste treats is a Greek-inspired blend of feta, plain yogurt, garlic and olive oil. But you really can serve it with whatever dip catches your fancy. Just be sure you pre-cook the pasta al dente or you’ll never get it to the perfect texture in the air fryer.

Fancy things up with these ideas:
- Use adorable bowtie pasta for a snazzier look
- Make it easier by tossing your pasta with a few Mexican spices like cumin or chilli powder and then dip in a queso based sauce or salsa
- Serve your pasta chips with ooey-gooey hot melty cheese dips like artichoke cheese or chilli and cheddar
- Use your favourite jarred pasta sauce as a yummy easy warm dip like alfredo, rose or marinara
