Cut the tomatoes into 1/4-inch pieces. Roughly chop cilantro. Zest then juice half the lime. Cut the remaining lime into wedges.
Add the tomatoes, onions, pureed garlic, cilantro, lime juice, lime zest, 1/2 tsp sugar and 1 tbsp oil in a large bowl. Season with salt and pepper, then toss to coat.
Transfer the salsa to a serving bowl. Serve with the chips on the side.
